Terra Eolica s.a. is the first and only company on Lesvos to
produce and export bottled Organic Extra
Virgin olive oil. We were also the first company to receive the coveted
DIO certificate for Organic feta cheese in all of Greece in 2001. We
remain the only producer of Organic feta cheese on Lesvos island. Terra
Eolica s.a. has become synonymous with A-quality Organic gourmet
products from the island of Lesvos. One of our goals is to convert as
many olive and dairy sheep farmers to organic farming methods in order
to protect the land and therefore their livelihoods so as to ensure a
green future for Lesvos.
It's All About People
The company was founded on the belief in the benefits of
Organic agriculture by Panayiotis and Dawn Andonellis, a young couple in
1998. Then, all we had was faith in our idea and lots of determination.
It was difficult in the beginning and we can't remember how many times
we stuck labels on by hand into the wee hours of the morning to get an
order done. But we were together, contributing something good to the
world and that was the important thing. Terra Eolica has remained small
shunning the impersonal aspects of larger industrials. Our under ten
employees are treated as partners working towards the
common goal and they go the extra mile because they know that their
performance directly effects the company's success. Diligence and a
commitment to our original vision in the face of adversity has brought
us to where we are today: wiser, more progressive and even more
determined to fulfill our dream.
The Brand
The brand name "Terra Eolica" (which means
"earth of the Aeolians" in Latin) is synonymous with quality
in many different countries all over the world. For example, "Terra
Eolica" Organic olive oil is already an established high-end Greek
product in Japan and Germany.
We are continuously striving to maintain and improve the image of our
products so that we can remain competitive in the global market. You can
