The Province includes three main islands: Lesvos, Lemnos and Agios Efstratios. It belongs to the North Aegean group. The economy of the Prefecture is based on agriculture and manufacturing. Lesvos and Lemnos are famous for their wine, cheese, honey, ouzo, olive oil, olives and salted fish. They are also known for the pottery, woodcarving, weaving, handcrafted arts in general and the dairy products. One can buy on-line these products through our e-commerce site (e-shop).
Lesvos (Lesbos) and Lemnos (Limnos) have beautiful nature and clean sandy beaches. Many people have occupations or Business related to travel and tourism. There are many nice hotels, villas, studios, rooms, apartments and other accommodation on these Greek islands. Traditional food with local ecological products is served in the restaurants, tavernas (taverns), cafeterias.
There are many good reliable rental (rent a car) companies that hire cars, motos, motorcycles, bikes and bicycles to tourists and visitors. You can get help about your charter flight, boat trip, excursion from many tourist offices, travel agencies (agency). Many beaches are awarded with the Blue Flag of the EU European Union. There is also a co-operative bank of Lesvos-Lemnos where you can do your business transaction, currency exchange and money arrangements (payments, loans etc).
